Healing with Me

I like to bring the humanness back into therapy. My style is warm, engaging, integrative, compassionate, and direct. Humor, music, movement, and creativity are brought into the room so we can use what fits for you. We can work together to explore, understand, and begin to shift the patterns of disconnection and shame to ones of connection and safety.
*I’m not currently accepting long term therapy clients, however, I can provide intensives, supervision, training, or speaking opportunities.

Where Every Voice Is Valued.

A note from Jen:
When you don’t have a way to communicate what’s gone wrong, it comes out in other ways… headaches, body tension, illness, irritation, worry. Mental health is connected to the body as much as to the brain; a wellness approach addresses both. My goal is to humanize therapy, it’s a discussion between equals where you are the expert in your life. I don’t have to know what happened to help and that’s where we start, with strategies to help regulate and knowledge of what’s occurring to begin feeling change and agency in your life.
It is my honor and privilege to work with you on this journey. I am passionate about helping people connect with themselves and find their worthiness. So much time is spent feeling the opposite way that it takes a bit to undo our habits, patterns, and decisions but it can be done.
I engage regularly in trainings and conferences to stay fresh in skills and knowledge. Most frequently I use brainspotting, applied polyvagal theory, sensorimotor bilateral guided drawing, ACT and MI to support clients in an integrative, multi-layered approach to healing.
I work with folks that have a developmental trauma or complex trauma history. This looks like first responders, child sexual assault survivors, perinatal trauma and loss, grief, single incident traumas. This can show up as somatic symptoms, numbness, anxiety, low self-worth, autoimmune disease, post-traumatic stress, and other adaptive strategies needed to survive often complex situations.
